Lauren Eberhart

Lauren Eberhart joins the Macalester College volleyball program this year as an assistant coach. Eberhart received a B.A. in Biology from Macalester in 2007. Following graduation Eberhart spent a year working in the leasing industry at Farm Credit Leasing in Minneapolis. She then moved west to start a job as a molecular biology laboratory technician at Washington State University in Pullman, Wash.

After working for a semester, Eberhart was then accepted into the doctoral program in Immunology and Infectious Diseases in the College of Veterinary Medicine at WSU. In May 2013 she completed her Ph.D. in Veterinary Science and moved back to MN. As a Ph.D. student, Lauren received numerous awards and recognition for her Ph.D. dissertation project that focused on controlling pathogenic E. coli in cattle.

As an athlete at Macalester, Eberhart was a starting outside hitter for four seasons and a team co-captain her junior and senior years. In 2005, Eberhart was MIAC All-Conference and was awarded team MVP. Eberhart is still in the rankings for Macalester’s all-time career leader in total blocks (8th with 202) and block assists (6th with 157). Currently Eberhart holds the all-time Macalester record for number of career kills (1,343).

Eberhart currently lives in St. Paul and is the co-owner and manager of the Minnesota Hops Co. located near her hometown, Madelia, Minn.
