Why did you choose to attend Macalester?

I was attracted to Macalester because it was very accepting and vibrant. Being a small and intimate school, the many personal connections I made with students, staff, and professors during my visit made me excited to attend and continue to make more friendships on the track and field team, in my classes, and in other on campus activities. Macalester convinced me that they will be completely invested in helping me succeed and grow.

What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?
Being at Macalester has helped me view many things through a new perspective and help me become my best self. The classes I have taken, the professors I have had, and the students from all over the world that I have met have instilled in me a strong sense of identity, as well as being committed to the mission of eventually making a difference in society once I graduate. Macalester's community continues to be vibrant, active, and engaged - I enjoy my time here with every passing day. I am constantly reassured that everyone has a place within this community, whether it is in a student org, sports, music, or the endless opportunities found in the Twin Cities, because everyone is passionate about something. The opportunity to share that passion within a very tight-knit community is astounding because you are bound to learn something new everyday that can be applied in your own life and in the bigger picture of society. Macalester has invested in my growth through many resources, classes, and activities that will help me reach the success I am striving for in both my personal and professional life.
