Before Mac
Two-time USYS National Championship participant... Minnesota State High School League Class AA State Champion... Three-time MEC All-Conference recipient.
Why did you choose to attend Macalester?
I chose Macalester because of its well-respected academics, multiculturism, excellent soccer team, and civic engagement. I wanted to go to a school that would challenge me as a student and as an athlete and Macalester is that school. After my first visit to Macalester, I knew Mac was the school for me. Macalester has a sense of community, which I didn't feel when I was visiting other schools. I chose Macalester because it has the perfect setting, in the middle of a busy city where there are endless adventures and opportunities at every corner. I am excited to spend the next four years of my life at Mac.
What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?
In just the nine months or so that I have been at Macalester, I have learned a lot about my own identity and my presence in a community. My experience so far has taught me what it means to be a conscious citizen within one's community, which a lesson I know for sure I will take with me after my four years at Macalester.
