Wilson Josephson has coached at Macalester since 2017, working as an assistant for the college's varsity program and the head coach of the masters team. Since 2020, he has also served on the US Masters Swimming national Coaches Committee and the USMS Diversity and Inclusion committee. Prior to his time at Mac, Josephson was a lead coach for the Edina Swim Club's age group program and the head coach of the Concord Blue Dolphins.
In his role at Macalester, Josephson is an advisor to the Student Athlete Mentors, a group of leaders from every varsity athletics program that work to connect their peers with resources for support on campus. SAMs also champion and provide logistical support for other Scots LEAD programs and affinity groups.
As a student-athlete at Carleton College ('16), Josephson was a two-time MIAC champion in the 200 freestyle relay and an Academic All-American (honorable mention). His degree is in English literature, but during his undergraduate years he studied in nineteen different departments. Aren't the liberal arts neat?!
