Macalester College Athletics

Lorin Leake is a 5’ 8” outside hitter and defensive specialist from Martin Luther King Magnet School and hails from Whites Creek, Tennessee. Leake completed her high school career with some impressive accomplishments. She is a National Merit Commended Scholar, a member of the National Honor Society and a member of the National Honor Roll. She was also honored with her school’s Modern History Department Award. In addition to these academic awards, Leake was named “Most Congenial of the Class of 2008” and she was a member of the Homecoming Court in 2008. Athletically, Lorin has played volleyball since eighth grade and ran on the track team for two years. She earned all-district honorable mention for volleyball in 2007-08 and was given the Ginny Moore Award. In 2005 she finished third in the regional qualifying meet for the 3200-meter run. Leake has played club volleyball for four years, most recently for Spike Volleyball Club in Tennessee. She plans to major in English Literature and is the daughter of Cindy and Harry Leake.
