ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester men's soccer team hosted Hamline University for a rainy afternoon match on Saturday at Macalester Stadium. After a slow start, the Scots brought home the win with a goal in the 73rd minute. Macalester is now 3-1-3 on the season and 2-0 in-conference.
Sophomore
Milan Shah (Chicago, Ill./Francis W. Parker) delivered the game's only goal. After dribbling through a pack of Pipers, he sent the ball sailing to the back of the net for a low left shot. It's Shah's second goal of the season. The midfielder's prior goal came one week ago in a 2-0 win at St. Scholastica.
On Wednesday, Hamline had four goals in a victory over the University of Wisconsin-Stout, but on Saturday, sophomore goalkeeper
Justin Ratner (Dallas, Texas/Highland Park) silenced the Pipers. In a final Hamline press at the two-minute mark, Ratner's diving save secured the Scot's win. He allowed no goals on eight shots faced, and had five saves on the night.

John Albright (Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka) and senior midfielder
Kasdan Blattman (San Jose, Calif/Bellarmine) each had a shot on goal. Senior forward
Zach Liptzin (Denver, Colo./Northfield) and first year midfielder
Jeremy Cordeiro (Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata) each took shots of their own.
The Scots' 1-0 win leaves Hamline 3-3-3 on the season and 0-1-2 in conference.
Macalester's next game will be on Wednesday, Sept 30 at 7:30 p.m., when the Scots host Gustavus at John Leaney Field at Macalester Stadium.
