HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Macalester College men's tennis team defeated Salve Regina, 6-1 in the team's final Spring Break competition. The Scots went 2-2 in Hilton Head and are now 6-5 on the season.
In doubles, first years
Derek Chen (South Kingstown, R.I./Moses Brown School) and
Charles Flaman (Calgary, Alberta/Rundle College) won their match at No. 1 doubles. Since Salve Regina only had five players, Macalester took the doubles point with a walkover at No. 3 doubles despite losing the match at No. 2 doubles.

Zach Dajani (Singapore/Singapore American School) and sophomore
Beckett Annes (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) won their matches at first, third, fourth and fifth singles in straight sets. Junior
Kangyu Li (Shanghai, China/Shanghai Southwest Weiyu) battled Kole Pinto at No. 2 singles but ultimately lost in a tie-breaker, 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (11-9).
Macalester begins MIAC play on March 29 against Bethel University. The dual starts at 6:00 p.m. at Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis.
