NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Macalester College women's soccer team surrendered an early goal and never recovered in a 2-0 loss at St. Olaf Saturday afternoon at Rolf Melby Field. The Scots are now 3-4 overall and 0-2 in conference play, while the Oles improve to 6-1-1 on the season and 1-0-1 in the MIAC.
Less than three minutes after kickoff, Roxanne Rundle headed home a cross from Marit Klagge for a 1-0 St. Olaf lead. First year forward
Lindsay Edmonson (North Kingstown, R.I./LaSalle Academy) put a shot on goal in the 12th minute that was saved by Charlotte Percy, as the score remained 1-0 at halftime. The Oles added an insurance goal in the 57th minute by Emily Johnson, and the Scots were unable to score despite two shots over the remainder of the game.

Lily Salazar (Oakland, Calif./Bentley Upper School) registering two saves over the final 45 minutes. Percy had one save, as the Oles held an 11-7 edge in shots taken.
Macalester returns home to host Carleton on Saturday, Sept. 27 for a MIAC match. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. at John Leaney Field at Macalester Stadium.
