ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The Macalester College women's tennis team faced Bethel University in a MIAC dual, losing 9-0 Wednesday afternoon at Ona Orth Athletic Complex. The Scots fall to 3-13 overall and 1-7 in the conference, while the Royals improve to 13-3 overall and 8-1 in the MIAC to remain in second place in the league standings.
Bethel won all three doubles matches handily before taking all six singles matches in straight sets. Junior
Elizabeth Trevathan (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy) battled Michaella Sullivan at No. 2 singles, losing a close first set before falling, 6-4, 6-1.
The Scots return home to host St. Olaf College in another MIAC dual on Saturday, April 26. The first matches are scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. at Hayden Tennis Courts.
