NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Macalester College women's tennis team lost to 24th-ranked Carleton College, 9-0 in a MIAC dual Saturday afternoon at Pat Lam Tennis Courts. The Scots are now 3-10 overall and 1-4 in the conference, while the Knights improve to 12-2 on the season and 7-0 in the MIAC.
In doubles play, Carleton won all three matches, with juniors
Savannah Haugen (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji) and
Elizabeth Trevathan (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy) battling Amelia Asfaw and Mariam Nechiporuk at No. 1 doubles before falling, 8-4. The Knights won all six singles matches in straight sets to remain unbeaten in MIAC play.
Macalester returns home to face St. Scholastica on Sunday, April 13. The Scots will celebrate their seniors at 11:45 a.m., with the MIAC dual beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Hayden Tennis Courts.
