ROCHESTER, Minn. – The Macalester College women's tennis team faced Luther College in a non-conference dual, losing 7-0. The Scots fall to 2-5 on the season, while the Norse improve to 9-2.
All three doubles matches were close, but Luther was able to win the battles to earn the doubles point. Juniors
Savannah Haugen (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji) and
Elizabeth Trevathan (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy) lost at No. 1 doubles, 7-5, while first years
Berkeley Cox (Sandpoint, Idaho/Sandpoint) and
Greta Laurel (River Falls, Wis./Hudson) fell, 6-4 at No. 3 doubles. Trevathan lost a tight battle at No. 1 singles to Montserrat Ramirez Mainou, 6-3, 4-6, 10-7. The Norse won the remaining five singles matches in straight sets.
Macalester heads to Hilton Head, S.C., for its Spring Break Trip Mar. 15-20.
