BRUNSWICK, Ga. – The Macalester College women's tennis team faced the College of Coastal Georgia on Saturday to kick off its spring trip. The Scots lost the non-conference dual to the NAIA Mariners, 6-1 at Coastal Georgia's Marta B. Torrey Tennis Complex.
The Mariners (3-7) had five players, giving Macalester (2-6) a point at No. 6 singles via walkover. In singles, junior
Savannah Haugen (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji) battled Azul Malatini at second singles before losing in a tie-breaker set, 6-1, 3-6, 7-4. Coastal Georgia won the other contested singles matches in straight sets.
Macalester continues its spring trip with a dual against Coe College on Sunday, Mar. 16 at the Van Der Meer Tennis Center in Hilton Head, S.C.
