MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Macalester College men's tennis team resumed MIAC play with a 9-0 loss to Gustavus Saturday night at Baseline Tennis Center. The Scots are now 7-4 overall and 2-1 in the conference, while the Gusties improve to 11-9, 5-0 MIAC.
Gustavus won all three doubles matches to open the dual, although sophomore
Kangyu Li (Shanghai, China/Shanghai Southwest Weiyu) and first year
Beckett Annes (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) battled at No. 3 doubles before falling, 8-5. In singles, senior
Lucas Wood (Urbana, Ill./University Lab School) forced a tie-breaker in the second set at No. 2 singles but ultimately lost, 6-3, 7-6 (7-5).
Macalester continues MIAC play with a dual at Saint John's University on Sunday, Mar. 30. The first matches begin at 11:00 a.m. at Sta-Fit in Sartell, Minn.
