FARGO, ND. – The Macalester College women's tennis team played its first match back after its spring trip today against Concordia, in a MIAC contest. The Scots dominated and won 7-2. Macalester is now 7-3 (2-1 MIAC).
Macalester secured the points in all three doubles matches. At No. 1 doubles seniors
Meg Ulrich (Carlisle, PA./Carlisle) and
Sydney Ellison (Birmingham, Ala./Spain Park) won 8-4. Taking the No. 2 doubles match, 8-2, was senior
Amanye Reynolds (St. Paul, Minn./Harding) and sophomore
Savannah Haugen (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji). Slated at third doubles, sophomore
Elizabeth Trevathan (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy) and junior
Megan Twomey (Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn) defeated their opponent 8-6.
Ellison took down her opponent in two 6-2 matches at first singles. Ulrich and Haugen took the points at third and fifth singles respectively with (6-3, 6-2) matches. Trevathan won at No. 4 singles (6-0, 6-1). The Cobbers took the points at No. 2 and No. 6 singles.
Macalester's next match will be Tuesday April 9. The Scots host Saint Mary's for another MIAC contest at home at Hayden Courts. The match will start at 4:30 pm.
