ST. PAUL, Minn. – Macalester junior guard/forward Peyton Starks (St. Louis, Mo./John Burroughs School) has been selected to the D3hoops.com All-Region 9 third team, the website announced today. This is Starks' first All-Region honor. She is now a candidate for All-American honors, as the D3hoops.com All-America teams will be announced on Mar. 16.

In February, Starks received All-MIAC honors for the second time in her career. She has led the Scots and the conference in scoring the last two seasons. This season, Starks averaged 18.4 points per game and had a free throw percentage of 0.891 to lead the conference this season. She registered her 1,000th career point on Jan. 20 against St. Scholastica, becoming the eleventh Scot women's basketball player to do so in program history. Through her three seasons as a Scots so far, she has amassed 1,186 points and currently ranks eighth on Macalester's all-time scoring list in 76 games.

Starks is one of four MIAC players to earn All-Region honors this season. Emma Kniefel of Gustavus was also named to the third team while Carlee Sieben and Makayla Anderson of Concordia were named to the second team.
