ST. PAUL, Minn. – Three second-half goals broke open a close game and gave St. Catherine University a 4-0 win over the Macalester College women's soccer team in a MIAC game Saturday night at John Leaney Field at Macalester Stadium. The Scots are now 5-6-3 overall and 2-4-2 in the conference, while the Wildcats improve to 8-2-4, 5-0-3 MIAC.
Macalester held their own with one of the top teams in the MIAC in the first half, generating a couple scoring chances while keeping St. Catherine off the scoreboard. Then in the 38th minute, Ari Green placed a shot into the upper right corner of the goal for a 1-0 lead. In the second half, back-to-back goals less than four minutes apart put the Wildcats up, 3-0 in the 59th minute. A goal in the 80th minute completed the scoring and secured a 4-0 win for St. Kate's.
