LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Macalester College volleyball team wrapped up its stay at the UW-La Crosse Tournament with a loss to UW-Stout, 25-19, 25-18, 25-19 Saturday morning at Mitchell Hall. The Scots went 1-2 at the tournament and are now 5-6 overall.
Offense was tough to come by for Macalester, which had 22 kills for the match compared to 40 for the Blue Devils (9-0). Junior outside hitter
Adisa Preston (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) recorded seven kills, five service aces and nine digs to pace the Scots. Senior middle blocker
Anna Fritz (Mountain View, Calif./Mountain View) and sophomore outside hitter
Grace Watkins (San Angelo, Texas/Georgetown) had four kills apiece. First year setter
Hannah Morrow (Raleigh, N.C./Millbrook) tallied 17 assists and 11 digs for her fourth consecutive double-double. She was named to the All-Tournament team. Junior defensive specialist
Torrance Williams (Houston, Texas/Yes Prep Northbrook) led the defense with 14 digs.
Macalester begins the MIAC schedule on Friday, Sept. 22 with a home match against Concordia. The match begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Leonard Center.
