RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The Macalester College volleyball team lost a non-conference match to UW-River Falls in three sets, 25-16, 25-16, 25-18 Wednesday night at Don Page Arena. The defeat ends a three-match winning streak for the Scots, who are now 4-4 on the season. The Falcons improve to 6-2 with the win.
UW-River Falls registered 46 kills for the match compared to 23 kills for Macalester. Junior outside hitter
Adisa Preston (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie), last week's MIAC Offensive Player of the Week, led the Scots with 11 kills to go with seven digs. Sophomore outside hitter
Grace Watkins (San Angelo, Texas/Georgetown) tallied four kills, all in the second set, while first year setter
Hannah Morrow (Raleigh, N.C./Millbrook) had 15 assists. Morrow also led the defense with 11 digs, with sophomore defensive specialist
Sarah Bohrer (Minneapolis, Minn./Edina) contributing eight digs. Sami Hilley paced the Falcons with 11 kills.
Macalester competes at the UW-La Crosse Tournament this weekend, with matches on Friday against the host Eagles at 3:00 p.m. and Simpson at 5:00 p.m.
