ST. PAUL, Minn. – Macalester College women's soccer team opened the 2023 slate by blanking the Blue Devils of UW-Stout, 3-0, in front of their home crowd. The Scots start off the season 1-0.

Ella Wu-Ancipink (Los Angeles, Calif./Polytechnic School) netted her first collegiate goal, blasting one from the top of the box. The Scots tallied another goal in the 40
th minute, this time from first year
Georgia LeWin-Mills (St. Paul, Minn./Breck School). LeWin-Mills' first collegiate goal was assisted by fellow first years
Avery Ellis (Chicago, Ill./Lane Tech) and
Abbey Birkey (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids).
The Scots maintained the high tempo in the second half and cruised past the Blue Devils with a 3-0 victory. Junior goalkeeper
Ashlyn Ryan (Seattle, Wash./Lakeside School) and first year goalkeeper
Abigail Heuga (San Francisco, Calif./Urban School of San Francisco) split time in goal and kept UW-Stout out of the game.
The Scots' next game will be Monday Sept 4 at 7:00 p.m. Macalester takes a trip to the University of Northwestern (MN).
