ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College football team will start the 2023 campaign on Saturday, Sept. 2 at home against Minnesota Morris. The 2023 schedule includes two non-conference games, three crossover games against the MIAC Northwoods Division, and four Skyline Division contests. The season concludes with a MIAC Championship Week game that will be played at Macalester Stadium on Nov. 11.
The Scots will host Minnesota Morris on Sept. 2 at 6:00 p.m. in the season opener. The team's other non-conference game is at Martin Luther on Sept. 9 at 1:00 p.m. in New Ulm. After a bye week, Macalester heads to Northfield to face St. Olaf on Sept. 23 before returning home Sept. 30 to host St. Scholastica. The first Skyline Division game is against Bethel at home on Oct. 7 at 7:00 p.m. That game is a part of Mac Fest weekend and follows two home soccer games. For the first time since 2007, Macalester will play Gustavus on Oct. 14 in the final crossover game of the season. The Skyline schedule concludes with games at Concordia in Moorhead on Oct. 21, at Hamline on Oct. 28 and at home against Augsburg on Nov. 4.
The divisional standings will determine the Scots' opponent for MIAC Championship Week on Nov. 11, with the Skyline Division teams serving as hosts. The teams will face the corresponding seed in the other division, with the two first-place teams playing for the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Playoffs.
Last year Macalester won its final three games of the season to finish 5-5. The roster features 15 seniors in the team's second year under head coach
