Doug Bolstorff M Club Student-Athlete of the Year Award
This award is given to a student-athlete from a men's and a women's sport at Macalester who has contributed the most to the team's success through athletic achievement, leadership and academic excellence.
Men's Team Athlete -
Caleb Williams, men's basketball. Williams repeated on the All-MIAC and All-Region teams this year after averaging 21.5 points per game for the Scots this season. He made a habit of stepping up in big situations, making a driving layup with 3.7 seconds left to beat Saint Mary's, and hitting a three-pointer against St. Olaf that tied the game at the end of regulation. A standout student as a physics and mathematics double major, Williams was named an Academic All-American this year.
Women's Team Athlete -
Journey Amundson, track & field. Amundson has been one of the best horizontal jumpers in the MIAC and nation. After taking second in the triple jump at the MIAC Indoor Championships this winter, she qualified for the national indoor meet and placed ninth despite entering the meet seeded 20th. Amundson has earned multiple All-Region and All-MIAC citations in her outstanding career. On Saturday, in her final meet at Macalester Stadium, she broke the school record in the triple jump with a leap of 39 feet, 3 inches, a mark that ranks 13th in the nation.
Dorothy Michel Award - Maria Blaesing and Eleanor Michaud
This award honors the outstanding junior and a senior female student-athletes of the year at Macalester and was established by family, alumni and friends in memory of Dorothy Michel, chair of the women's physical education department from 1946-1968.
Junior -
Maria Blaesing placed 25th at the North Region cross country meet this past fall to earn All-Region honors. She also was named All-MIAC in both the mile and 1000 meters at the conference indoor track & field championships, where she helped the distance medley relay team finish second.
Senior -
Eleanor Michaud is a two-time All-American in water polo who led the Scots in both scoring and steals this season. Also an All-CWPA honoree the past two seasons, she made the conference's All-Tournament team after leading the Scots to a third-place finish at last week's CWPA Tournament at Riley Pool. Michaud also excels in the classroom as a biology major.
David C. Primrose Endowed Prize - Michael Nadeau
This prize recognizes the outstanding junior male student-athlete of the year at Macalester and was established by family, friends and former students in memory of David C. Primrose, director of physical education and Macalester's track and field coach from 1926-1954.
Michael Nadeau set many passing records as the Scots' quarterback this season, including 34 touchdown passes. He led the MIAC in passing yards, completions and touchdowns, and was named All-Conference.
George E. Scotten Endowed Prize - Thomas Dono
This prize recognizes the outstanding senior male student-athlete of the year at Macalester and was established anonymously by fellow class member of George E. Scotten, class of 1921, honoring the man who directed the Macalester Admissions Office for 30 years.
A key player in the midfield for the Scots,
Thomas Dono earned All-MIAC accolades this season after tallying three goals and three assists. The neuroscience major also made the Academic All-District Team this fall and is a three-time Academic All-MIAC honoree.

As a goalkeeper for the women's soccer team Radke performed well. She was the MIAC Defensive Player of the Week after her shutout of Gustavus in a game the Scots needed to win to clinch their first MIAC Playoff berth in seven years. Radke is an excellent student majoring in economics.
A linebacker on the football team,
Victor Wright was the Scots' third-leading tackler this season and earned Academic All-Conference honors for the third time. He is a double major in economics and computer science.
