MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Macalester College women's tennis team remains perfect in conference play, defeating Hamline 9-0 this afternoon. The Scots are now 9-3 (5-0 MIAC).
All three doubles teams defeated their opponents 8-3. Juniors
Sydney Ellison (Birmingham, Ala./Spain Park) and
Meg Ulrich (Carlisle, PA./Carlisle) paired at first doubles while first years
Savannah Haugen (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji) and
Elizabeth Trevathan (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy) partnered at third doubles. Slated at No. 2 doubles was junior
Amanye Reynolds (St. Paul, Minn./Harding) and senior
Amalin Sorajja (Rochester, Minn./Mayo).
Ellison won 6-3,6-0 at first singles while Ulrich won 6-2, 6-0 at third singles. Sorajja won at No. 4 singles in two 6-2 sets. Trevathan defeated her opponent 6-2, 6-1 at fifth singles. Slated at No. 6 singles, Haugen won 6-1, 6-0. Reynolds battled to win No. 2 singles in three sets (2-6, 6-2, 1-0).
Macalester's next match is scheduled for Tuesday April 11. The Scots will head to Bethel for a MIAC matchup beginning at 4:30 p.m.
