SARTELL, Minn. – The Macalester College women's tennis team competed against Saint Benedict this afternoon in a MIAC matchup. The Scots were victorious 6-3. The Scots are now 10-5 (6-2 MIAC).
Slated at No. 2 doubles, junior
Amanye Reynolds (St. Paul, Minn./Harding) and senior
Amalin Sorajja (Rochester, Minn./Mayo) defeated their opponents 8-6. First years
Savannah Haugen (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji) and
Elizabeth Trevathan (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy) battled hard to win at third doubles 8-7 (10-8). The Bennies took the point at No. 1 doubles.
Junior
Meg Ulrich (Carlisle, PA./Carlisle) won at third singles 6-3, 7-5. Sorajja took the victory at No. 4 singles 7-6, 6-2. Trevathan eased to the win at fifth singles in two 6-2 sets. Haugen persisted to win at No. 6 singles in three sets (7-5, 4-6, 10-6). The Bennies took the point at first and second singles.
Macalester's next match is scheduled for Tuesday April 18 at 5:30 p.m. The Scots will host St. Olaf at Hayden Courts.
