ROCHESTER, Minn. – The Macalester College men's tennis team competed against non-conference opponent Luther today. The Scots put up a fight, but fell 7-2 to the Norse. Macalester is now 3-2 (1-0 MIAC).

Anton Korolev (Moscow, Russia/Weil) and sophomore
Jordan Doi (Mililani, Hawaii/Mililani) won the Scots' lone point in doubles. The Scots won second doubles 8-5. The Norse took the victories at first and third doubles.
Doi won his No. 3 singles match in two sets (6-3, 6-3). Korolev put up a fight at No. 4 singles, forcing the match to a third set before being edged in the final set (1-6, 6-4, 5-10). Slated at fifth singles, sophomore
Lucas Wood (Urbana, Ill./University Lab School) battled to the end, falling 7-5 in both sets. Luther took the points at first, second and sixth singles.
The Scots' next match will be a conference matchup against Concordia on Saturday March 4 at 3:30 p.m. at Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis.
