MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Macalester women's soccer team played its final game of the regular season this evening against Augsburg. After going down in the first half, the Scots came back in the second to earn a 1-1 tie. Macalester finishes the regular season 9-6-2 (6-3-2 MIAC). With the draw, Macalester ties for third in MIAC standings, and takes the No. 3 seed in the playoffs.

Becky Mulcahy (Baltimore, Md./Roland Park Country School) got off two quick shots for the Scots, but were denied by the Auggies' goalkeeper Iz Shuster. However, from the tenth minute on in the first half, Augsburg controlled the game and took a 1-0 in the 30
th minute and retained it into halftime.
The Scots answered immediately. Less than a minute after the whistle blew, senior forward
Mia Brisbin (Los Angeles, Calif./Crossroads School) slotted the ball into the back of the net, tying the game at one. First year forwards
Adi Nhouyvanisvong (Wayzata, Minn./Minnetonka) and Short each created multiple opportunities in the second half. First year
Julia Hanson (Weston, Mass./Weston) came close in the 58
th minute to take the lead, but knocked it off the woodwork. The Scots controlled the second half, but the game ended with just one goal for each team.
The Scots will have another opportunity to take down the Auggies on Monday Oct 30. Macalester, as the third seed, will host the sixth seed, Augsburg at 4:30 p.m. in the MIAC Quarterfinal match.
