Northfield, Minn. – The Macalester College women's tennis team traveled to Northfield to take on the Oles of St. Olaf in a MIAC dual. The Scots fell 9-0 to the Oles, moving to 5-11 (2-7 MIAC) on the season.
After falling 6-2 in set one at No. 1 singles, sophomore
Amanye Reynolds (St. Paul, Minn./Harding) forced the match into a third set, winning the second set 6-4. However, Reynolds was defeated 1-0 (11-9) in the third. Fellow sophomore
Meg Ulrich (Carlisle, PA./Carlisle) also forced a third set, but fell 1-0 (10-4) in the third. The Oles also won at third, fourth, fifth, and sixth singles.
In doubles play, Reynolds and Ulrich paired up but fell 8-2 at first doubles. St. Olaf also took the point at second and third doubles.
The Scots' next match is scheduled for Friday April 29. The Scots will face Carleton at 5:30 p.m. on their home court.
