St. Paul, Minn. – The Macalester College women's tennis team hosted Hamline this evening for a MIAC dual. The Scots eased to a 9-0 win over the Pipers. Macalester improves to 5-10 (2-6 MIAC).
Sophomores
Amanye Reynolds (St. Paul, Minn./Harding) and
Meg Ulrich (Carlisle, PA./Carlisle) paired at No. 1 doubles to win 8-1. At No. 2 doubles, Juniors
Amalin Sorajja (Rochester, Minn./Mayo) and
Avery Munster (San Luis Obispo, Calif./Mission) also won 8-1. The Scots took the point at No. 3 doubles by default.
Reynolds held off her opponent at No. 1 singles, taking the victory 6-2, 6-1. Sorajja won at No. 2 singles 6-1,6-0. Ulrich blanked her opponent in set one and then won set two, 6-2, to get the point at No. 3 singles. Munster registered a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 4 singles. Macalester won by default at fifth and sixth singles.
The Scots' next match is scheduled for Wednesday April 27. Macalester will travel to Northfield to play St. Olaf at 4:00 p.m.
