St. Paul, Minn. – The Macalester College women's tennis team hosted Bethel in its seventh MIAC dual of the season. The Scots battled hard, but the Royals won the match 6-3. Macalester is now 4-10 (1-6 MIAC).
The Scots took one of the three doubles matches. Juniors
Amalin Sorajja (Rochester, Minn./Mayo) and
Avery Munster (San Luis Obispo, Calif./Mission) edged out the Royals 8-7 (9-7 tiebreaker) at No. 2 doubles.
At No. 2 singles, sophomore
Amanye Reynolds (St. Paul, Minn./Harding) defeated Bethel 6-3, 6-1. Sophomore
Meg Ulrich (Carlisle, PA./Carlisle) forced a third set at No. 3 singles, losing 6-3 in the first set and winning 6-2 in the second. Ulrich cruised to a 10-4 victory in the third set to win the match. The Royals won at first, fourth, fifth, and sixth singles.
The Scots' next match is scheduled for Tuesday April 19. The Scots will host Hamline at 5:00 p.m.
