Eau Claire, Wis. – The Macalester College men's tennis team played its fifth dual of the season, falling to University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, 8-1. Macalester is now 3-2 (1-0 MIAC).
At No. 1 singles, after falling 6-2 in the first set, first year
Alec Sargent (Rochester, Minn./Rochester Century) made it a hard-earned second set for his opponent, falling 7-5. At No. 5 singles, junior
Anton Korolev (Moscow, Russia/Weil) came close to winning his first set, 7-5, before being defeated 6-1 in the second. The BluGolds won at second, third, and sixth singles as well. Junior
Matthew Sullivan (Tacoma, Wash./Weil) won by default at No. 5 singles.

Josh Marine (Honolulu, Hawaii/Summit) put up a fight at No. 1 doubles. Sullivan and Marine fell 8-5. The Scots were also defeated at second and third doubles.
The Scots' next dual sees them take on University of Scranton in Orlando, Fla. on March 13.
