Virginia, Minn. – The Macalester College women's tennis team competed in its fourth MIAC competition of the season today against St. Scholastica. The Saints came out on top, over the Scots, 7-2. Macalester is now 4-7 (1-3 MIAC).
 
The Scots faced three talented Saints doubles pairings, dropping first, second, and third doubles, 8-2, 8-3, and 8-2 respectively.
 
First year Megan Twomey (Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn) forced a third set at No. 6 singles. After losing the first set 6-0, Twomey came back to win set two 7-5. In the third set, Twomey came out on top 1-0 (14-12). Sophomore Amanye Reynolds (St. Paul, Minn./Harding) also won for the Scots today at No. 2 singles. Similar to Twomey, Reynolds went down a set, 6-1 and fought to win set two, 7-6. Reynolds came out on top 1-0 (10-7) in the third set to win the point. The Scots fell at first, third, fourth, and fifth singles.
 
The Scots will return to action on Saturday April 2 at 11:00 a.m. The Scots will host Saint Benedict for a conference match.
