Orlando, Fla. – The Macalester College women's tennis team played its third game down in Florida today. The Scots took on the Colonels of Curry College. Macalester came away with a 7-2 victory. Macalester improves to 4-4 (1-1 MIAC).
Sophomores
Amanye Reynolds (St. Paul, Minn./Harding) and
Meg Ulrich (Carlisle, PA./Carlisle) paired at No. 1 doubles to pull out an 8-3 victory. Juniors
Amalin Sorajja (Rochester, Minn./Mayo) and
Avery Munster (San Luis Obispo, Calif./Mission) blanked their opponents, 8-0, at No. 2 doubles. Sophomore
Talia Chait (Lexington, Mass./Lexington) and first year
Megan Twomey (Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn) eased to an 8-1 victory at No. 3 doubles.
Munster held her opponent to 0 games, winning 6-0 in both sets at No. 4 singles. Reynolds won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles while Ulrich won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 singles. Slotted at No. 6 singles, senior
Hannah Lundblad (Lakeville, Minn./South) came out on top with two 6-2 victories. The Colonels scored points at No. 1 and No. 5 singles.
The Scots will play Minnesota State University Moorhead on March 18 at 2:30 CDT.
