Orlando, Fla. – The Macalester College women's tennis team played its final game down in Florida today. The Scots played the Dragons of Division II Minnesota State University Moorhead. The Dragons defeated the Scots 6-1. Macalester is now 4-5 (1-1 MIAC).

The Scots earned the doubles point today, winning at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. SophomoresÂ
Amanye Reynolds (St. Paul, Minn./Harding) andÂ
Meg Ulrich (Carlisle, PA./Carlisle) won the battle at No. 1 doubles 6-4. At No. 3 doubles, seniorÂ
Hannah Lundblad (Lakeville, Minn./South) and sophomoreÂ
Talia Chait (Lexington, Mass./Lexington) took the match 6-3.

In the singles matches, the Scots fought hard. After losing the first set 7-6 (7-5 tiebreaker) at No. 1 singles, Reynolds forced a third set after taking the second 7-5. However, the Dragons took the third set 10-7. Lundblad fought hard in the No. 5 singles match, losing the second set 7-6 with a 7-3 tiebreaker). Minnesota State Moorhead also won at second, third, fourth, and sixth singles.

Macalester ends its run in Florida going 2-2 for the week. The Scots return to action on March 26 with a MIAC matchup against St. Mary's at 2:00 p.m. in Minneapolis.
