Orlando, Fla. – The Macalester College men's tennis team played Curry College in its third game of its spring trip. The Scots eased to a 9-0 victory. The Scots are now 5-3 (1-0 MIAC).
Today, juniors
Matthew Sullivan (Tacoma, Wash./Weil) and
Anton Korolev (Moscow, Russia/Weil) combined at No. 1 doubles and breezed to an 8-1 victory. Slotted at No. 2 doubles, seniors
Alexander Poland (Madison, Wis./Madison West) and
George Steinke (Swathmore, PA./Strath Haven) dominated their match, winning 8-0.
First years
Alec Sargent (Rochester, Minn./Rochester Century),
Jordan Doi (Mililani, Hawaii/Mililani), and
Liam Lynch (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy), along with junior
Josh Marine (Honolulu, Hawaii/Summit) all defeated their opponents in two 6-0 sets at first, second, fourth and fifth singles respectively. Steinke only gave up one game in the 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles.
The Scots won by default at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.
The Scots will play Post University on Friday March 18 at 2:30 CDT.
