Orlando, Fla. – The Macalester College men's tennis team's time in Florida came to a close today. The Scots played Post University and fell 5-2. The Scots are now 5-4 (1-0 MIAC).
 
Junior Matthew Sullivan (Tacoma, Wash./Weil) earned a point for Macalester at No. 3 singles. Sullivan won in two sets, 6-4, 6-3. Macalester's other point came from senior Alexander Poland (Madison, Wis./Madison West) who took the No. 5 singles match in two 7-6 sets. The Eagles defeated the Scots at No. 1, 2, 4, and 6 singles.
 
The Eagles also took the team point in doubles, beating the Scots at No. 1 and 2 doubles. Poland and first year Liam Lynch (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy) breezed to a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles.
 
Macalester ends its trip in Florida going 2-2. The Scots return to action Saturday March 26. Macalester will play a conference match against St. Mary's in Minneapolis at 2:00 p.m.
