Rochester, Minn. – The Macalester College men's tennis team suffered its first loss of the season today. The Norse of Luther College defeated the Scots 6-3. Macalester is now 3-1 (1-0 MIAC).

Alexander Poland (Madison, Wis./Madison West) won at No. 6 singles in two sets, 6-0 and 6-4. Poland also won a tough No. 3 doubles match, 8-5, paired with first year
Liam Lynch (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy). Junior
Matthew Sullivan (Tacoma, Wash./Weil) also pulled out a victory for the Scots, winning both sets of his No. 4 singles match 6-3.
First year
Jordan Doi (Mililani, Hawaii/Mililani) won the second set of his No. 3 singles match, 6-2 to force a third set. Doi was edged out in a 12-10 super breaker. Doi and his partner first year
Alec Sargent (Rochester, Minn./Rochester Century) put up a fight in their No. 2 doubles match, falling 8-4. The Scots also lost at first, second, and fifth singles, with the Norse claiming the dual with six points.
The Scots' next dual sees them take on University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on the road at 12:30 p.m.
