Fargo, N.D. – The Macalester College men's tennis team continued its winning ways by sweeping MIAC opponent Concordia, 9-0. The Scots are now 3-0 (1-0 MIAC).
No. 1 doubles partners juniors
Matthew Sullivan (Tacoma, Wash./Weil) and
Josh Marine (Honolulu, Hawaii/Summit) won their match 8-3. First year
Alec Sargent (Rochester, Minn./Rochester Century) and
Jordan Doi (Mililani, Hawaii/Mililani) eased to an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles. Doi and Sargent also each won their singles match in dominating fashion.
No. 2 singles senior
Karsten Knutsen (Minneapolis, Minn./Riverfield Country Day (Okla.) won his match in two sets, 6-1 and 6-0. Junior
Anton Korolev (Moscow, Russia/Weil) blanked his opponent in straight sets win at No. 4 singles. Also winning in straight sets was senior
Alexander Poland (Madison, Wis./Madison West) at No. 5 singles.
The Scots' next dual sees them face off against Luther on Saturday, February 26. The Scots will play in Rochester at 3:30 against the Norse.
