Menomonie, Wis. – The Macalester College women's soccer team continued its unbeaten record on Saturday afternoon. The Scots travelled to Menomonie, Wis. to play UW-Stout, and beat them 1-0. The Scots' record is now 4-0-1 (1-0-0 MIAC).
Once the whistle blew, the Scots looked to attack. Both shots by junior
Lucy Grochulska (Henrico, VA/Henrico) and senior
Alice Bieda (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) forced the UW-Stout goalkeeper, Haley Vokaty to make a save, keeping the score line even going into the break.
Macalester continued their offensive press in the second half. Their continuous efforts culminated in a goal in the 59
th minute. Sophomore
Ella Thomsen (Palo Alto, CA/Palo Alto) shot the ball into the top left corner off an assist from junior
Abby Ecker (Portland, OR/St. Mary's Academy).
Macalester held on to their lead and came out with a win against the Blue Devils. The Scots will play again on Tuesday, Sept. 21. They will travel to Minneapolis to play Augsburg University, in a conference match at 7:30 p.m.
