ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College men's soccer team opened its 2021 fall campaign with a double overtime win, 2-1, in a non-conference game against Viterbo University (Wis.) Saturday evening at Macalester Stadium. The Scots start the fall with a 1-0-0 record.
Macalester struck early with a goal from senior
Will Orser (Eau Claire, Wis./Eau Claire Memorial) in the third minute. The V-hawks pulled even just minutes later with a goal by Aidan Radford.
The game remained tied through regulation resulting in overtime. The Scots continued to press hard towards the net with four shots in overtime. The team's hard work finally paid off in the 108

Cade Fink (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) had four outstanding saves on the night, keeping Viterbo Univeristy at bay. The victory marked the first official competition for the team since 2019. The team has an exciting season ahead of them. Their next game is Sept. 4 against Luther College at Macalester Stadium.
