St. Paul, Minn.- The Macalester College Volleyball team lost 3-0 to Hamline University. The Scots were a few plays away from being on the opposite side of the sweep losing sets one, two, and three by a score of 25-23, 25-20, 25-21. Macalester finishes the spring season 1-2 (0-2 MIAC) while Hamline improves to 3-1 (2-1 MIAC).

Macalester had 32 kills, seven aces, 29 assists, and 55 digs as a team compared to Hamline's 40 kills, six aces, and 60 digs.

In set one, Macalester jumped out to an 9-6 lead before scoring seven straight points to take a 13-9 lead. The Scots battled back and tied it all at 19. Hamline would eventually take set one 25-23 after going back and forth.

Hamline jumped out to an 8-2 lead before the Scots rattled off five straight points to make the score 9-7 in favor of Hamline. The Scots and Pipers ties set two 18-18 before Hamline scored six straight points to take a 24-20 lead. The Pipers then scored set point to win 25-20.

The Scots and Pipers went back and forth during set three but Hamline won 25-21 and took the match by a score of 3-0.
