Arden Hills, Minn.- The Macalester College women's tennis team pulled out an exciting 5-4 victory over Bethel University on the road. The Scots improve to 4-1 (4-1 MIAC) while Bethel falls to 8-5 (5-2 MIAC).

In doubles play, the first-year duo of
Arista Siebrits (Frisco Texas/Laurel Springs) and
Sydney Ellison (Birmingham, Ala./Spain Park) edged Bethel 8-7 after winning (7-5) in the super breaker from the no. 1 slot. No. 3 slotted senior duo of
Laurel Hickey (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) and
Emma Baker (Bentonville, Ark./Bentonville) also fought hard for an important 8-4 victory that proved to be huge at the end of the match.

In singles play, no. 2 slotted Ellison took set one 7-6 after winning the super breaker by a score of 7-5. Ellison then won set two by a score of 7-5. No. 4 slotted sophomore
Amalin Sorajja (Rochester, Minn./Mayo) won her match in two straight sets by a score of 6-2 and 6-3. First-year
Amanye Reynolds (St. Paul, Minn./Harding) blanked her opponent in both sets to secure a win in from the no. 6 slot.
