St. Paul, Minn.- The Macalester College women's tennis team had their toughest test of the season today as the Scots faced off with the University of St. Thomas. The Scots fell to the Tommies by a score of 9-0. Macalester is now 2-1 (2-1 MIAC) while St. Thomas improves to 8-3.
In doubles play, the duo of no. 1 slotted first year's
Arista Siebrits (Frisco Texas/Laurel Springs) and
Sydney Ellison (Birmingham, Ala./Spain Park) lost 8-7 despite leading 7-4.
No. 1 slotted Siebrits lost in singles play but went all three sets and eventually lost in the super breaker (1-6,6-2,6-10). No. 6 slotted first-year
Amanye Reynolds (St. Paul, Minn./Harding) also lost in the super breaker (4-6,6-1,5-10).
The Scots will look to bounce back against Bethel University on April 21.
