St. Paul, Minn.- The Macalester College men's tennis team played well in their first home match of the season. The Scots defeated St. Olaf College 8-1 at home to improve to 2-1 (2-1 MIAC) while St. Olaf drops to 4-4 (2-4 MIAC).

In doubles play, the no. 2 pair of sophomore
Matthew Sullivan (Tacoma, Wash./Weil) and senior
Aidan Toner-Rodgers (Sebastopol, Calif./Analy) won their match by a score of 8-3. No. 3 slotted juniors
Jeffrey Jorgensen (Menlo Park, Calif./Menlo-Atherton) and
Alexander Poland (Madison, Wis./Maison West) finished out doubles play with an 8-4 victory.

The Scots flexed their muscles and swept singles play. No. 3 slotted junior
Karsten Knutsen (Minneapolis, Minn./Riverfield Country Day (Okla.) blanked his opponent in the first set by a score of 6-0 and won his second set by a score of 6-3. Senior
Ben White (Parkersburg, W. Va./Parkersburg South) won both sets of his singles match (6-2, 6-2).
