Winona, Minn.- The Macalester College women's tennis team fought hard for a 6-3 win over Saint Mary's University on the road. The Scots improve to 2-0 (2-0 MAIC) while Saint Mary's falls to 6-5 (2-5 MIAC).
In doubles play, first year duo
Arista Siebrits (Frisco Texas/Laurel Springs) and
Sydney Ellison (Birmingham, Ala./Spain Park) remain unbeaten after winning 8-2 in the no. 1 slot. The sister paring of sophomore
Amalin Sorajja (Rochester, Minn./Mayo) and senior
Natali Sorajja (Rochester, Minn./Mayo) also handled business by winning their match 8-1.
In singles play, Siebrits, Ellison, A. Sorajja and first-year
Amanye Reynolds (St. Paul, Minn./Harding) won their matches in two sets to help Macalester prevail over Saint Mary's.
The Scots will be back in action April 18 at home to take on the University of St. Thomas.
