NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Macalester College volleyball team dropped a MIAC match on the road at St. Olaf in three sets, 25-10, 25-14, 25-20 Friday night in the Skoglund Athletic Center. The Scots fall to 10-6 overall and 1-2 in conference play, while the Oles are now 6-8, 2-0 MIAC.
St. Olaf scored the final 10 points in the first set and led by as 12 points in the second set to take a quick 2-0 lead. Macalester found its rhythm in the third set, battling back to tie the score at 14-14 and later trailed by one, 19-18. But the Oles tallied four straight points, and six of the final eight points, to take the third set and the match. The Scots managed just 20 kills to St. Olaf's 40 and hit .051 for the match.

Adisa Preston (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) tallied eight kills and seven digs to lead Macalester, while junior
Eliza King (Novato, Calif./San Marin) added six kills. First year
Nicole Norton (Brussels, Wis./Southern Door) assisted on 19 of the Scots' 20 kills. Sophomore
Anna Fritz Mountain View, Calif./Mountain View) had a strong match defensively, registering four total blocks. St. Olaf's Anysia Caille led all players with 11 kills.
Macalester returns to action on Friday, Oct. 8 with a conference match at home against Saint Benedict. The match begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Leonard Center.
