ST. PAUL, Minn- The Macalester College Women's team continued its hot start with a 9-0 win over Crown College at home.
In doubles play, first year
Amalin Sorajja (Rochester, Minn./Mayo) and senior
Camilla Bendetti (Baltimore, M.D./Bryn Mawr School) took down their opponents in dominant fashion with an 8-0 win. junior
Natali Sorajja (Rochester, Minn./Mayo) and sophomore
Hannah Lundblad (Lakeville, Minn./South) defeated their opponents 8-1. Senior
Claire Buehler (Houston, Texas/Awty International School) and
Cameron Payne closed out doubles play with an 8-0 win.
No. 1 junior
Laurel Hickey (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) shut out her opponent in two sets to win the first singles match. No. 2 junior
Emma Baker (Bentonville, Ark./Bentonville) also took care of business in singles and won both matches 6-1. Bendetti and Lundblad also took down their opponents in two straight sets. First year
Kari Myhran (Shafer, Minn./Chisago Lakes) and first year
Talia Bank (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bard) kept the momentum going with two straight set wins of their own.
The Scots take their 2-0 record into conference play as Macalester takes on St. Mary's University Friday, February 21 at 7 p.m.
