DULUTH, Minn.- The Macalester men's tennis team beat the College of St. Scholastica today 5-4. The Scots are now 3-0.

In No.1 singles sophomore Sam Hochberger (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) beat his opponent in a close match 7 (7)- 6(4), 6-2. In No. 4 singles, sophomore Ben White (Parkersburg, W. Va./Parkersburg South) won 6-2, 6-2.

Seniors Peter Willenborg (Storrs, Conn./E.O. Smith) and Matt Yang (Bethesda, MD./Walt Whitman) won 6-3, 6-3 and 6-1, 6-1, respectively.

In doubles, Yang and first year Jeffrey Jorgensen (Menlo Park, Calif./Menlo-Atherton) combined to win 9(7)- 8(4).

Macalester returns to play Friday, Feb. 22, against the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse and Bethany Lutheran College.
