Women's Soccer: Scots Toppled by Tommies

ST. PAUL, Minn.- The Macalester College women's soccer team lost to the number four team in the MIAC, the University of St. Thomas,  3-0 today .

The Scots fell behind early in the ninth minute as the score favored the Tommies 1-0. Macalester's defense gave up another goal seven minutes later when St.Thomas capitalized off of a shot deflected by sophomore keeper Anya Lindell Paulson (St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park) but the follow through saw the score to 2-0. In Paulson's third game as the Scots keeper she had four saves, one short of tying her season high.   

After the halftime break, sophomore Kate Bond (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy) had the Scots only shot of the afternoon which was wide right of the Tommy goal. Three minutes later in the 57th minute St. Thomas secured their 3-0 win.

The Scots will return home to face St. Scholastica on Thursday, Oct. 4, at 7:30 p.m. in St. Paul, Minn.
