ST. PAUL, Minn.- The Macalester College women's soccer team tied St. Catherine University today at home. 

The Scots and Wildcats played an even match until the 29th minute when St. Kates went up 1-0 after slotted ball across the box got passed sophomore keeper Kate Lawhead (Battle Ground, Wash./Prairie) and was passed in the right side of the goal.

But Macalester evened the score to 1-1 in the 35th minute when a long ball fell over the Wildcats defense and sprung sophomore Kate Bond (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy). Bond dribbled twice down the center of the box and struck the ball in the left side of the net. The teams went into half at 1-1.

In the second half the score remained tied as the game went from end to end. St. Kate's had a clear chance to score but their shot on an open net went wide with fifteen minutes played in the second half.

But neither team could break the tie and the game went into overtime. Lawhead ended the game with four saves and the Scots were led in shots by Bond with four . 

The Scots will return home Thursday., Sept. 20, to face the University of Northwestern at 7:30 p.m. in St. Paul, Minn.
