NORTHFIELD, Minn.– The Macalester College women's tennis team beat St. Olaf College today in Northfield. The Scots defeated the Oles 7-2 and are now fifth in the MIAC.
 
No.1 Laurel Hickey (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) led the Scots in singles, defeating SabrinaBarboza 6-4, 7-6 1-0 (7-2).  No. 2 singles Lily Stein (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) won in a three set battle, 4-6, 7-5,  1-0 (10-6).  Claire Buehler  (Houston,Texas/ Awty International School) beat Ellen Stensrud  6-4, 6-3 . No.4 Della Brown  (Chicago, Ill./Univ. of Chicago Laboratory School), No.5 Natali Sorajja (Rochester, Minn./Mayo) and No. 6 Megan O'Herin (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northview) also won their matches, with Sorajja winning in three.

In doubles, the Scot's Laurel Hickey (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) Stein and Sorajja won 8-4 and O'Herin and Emma Baker (Bentonville, Ark./Bentonville) won 8-3.

The Scots return to action Thur., April 26 against St. Catherine University at 5:30.
