MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Macalester College men's tennis team defeated Bethel University 7-2 today. The Scots are now 5-0 in MIAC and 8-4 on the season.
Macalester swept Bethel in singles competition with No.1 singles
Sam Hochberger (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) defeating Hunter Fernelius 6-3, 7-6. No.2 singles
Josh Doyle (Cologne, Germany/Friedrich Wilhelm Gymnasium) won 7-5, 6-3. No.3 singles
Aidan Tirpack (Mill Valley, Calif./Tamalpais), No.4 singles
Ben White (Parkersburg, W.Va./Parkersburg South), No.5 singles
Matthew Yang (Bethesda, Md./ Walt Whitman) and No.6
Peter Willenborg (Storrs, Conn./ E.O. Smith) all won in straight sets.
In doubles, Doyle and Hochberger
Josh Doyle (Cologne, Germany/Friedrich Wilhelm Gymnasium) and
Sam Hochberger (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) won 8-1 for the Scots.
Macalester returns to action on Sat., April 14 against Carleton College at 8:30 p.m.
